Wellsford Estate takes its name from the surrounding Wellsford Forest which apart from providing a natural buffer zone, helps give rise to Bendigo’s claim as being a "City within a Forest".

The surrounding region is home to some of Australia’s most productive agricultural lands, with major grains, stone fruit, dairy, olives, livestock and viticulture industries to be found within one hour of Bendigo.
